Paisley's Blog

This week I worked on my speech and also I worked on my trifold. Unfortunately I did have some struggles this week like when I was writing the title to my trifold I spelled my name wrong. Something I will change so that doesn’t happen again is I will first on a separate piece of paper I will practice writing the title so then I can check it then to see if it is correct instead of it just being wrong the whole time. Writing the speech was also very hard for me to do because I did not know how to start it or end it but overall at the end of the day I figured it out and got it done. Other than that I was happy because I was able to finish both the trifold and the speech. For the trifold I put some pictures of my work and a fantastic title. Thank you so much for reading.

This school year I have made many memories but I gathered three. My first one was made in core on the first day of school, I was wearing a pink shirt and I walked up to Ms. Moffat and she said “ I’m going to call you Paisley pink” this made me laugh because it was so funny. The next thing also happened in core, I dropped my pencil and was going to pick it up and then I ended up on the floor laughing my head off. And lastly this one was at lunch me and my friend Avery were sitting lonely because we were new to the school and didn’t have any friends, and then this big group of girls come over and invite us to sit with them this made me super happy because now we are apart of a friend group.

This week I started working on my trifold and I got a lot done. I did the title, and also I printed and glued on pictures. Some struggles I had were when I was doing the title, I kept messing up and had to start over a lot. Something I struggled to think of is the title because I still did not know what to write yet before I started. I decided to make it “ Piping with Paisley.” I am happy with that title because it is creative and fun. Things that I will do differently this week is I will not go so fast and take my time so it will not be messy. I also started writing my script so then I am prepared for Monday. When I was writing my script I did not know what to say so I stoped and will resume writing it next week.

This week worked on piping rosettes. I did have some struggles with trying to do stars and they were when I went to pipe them it did not work so instead I decided that I wanted to do rosettes because they are also pretty and those did work. Some accomplishments I had were my rosettes looked good and then when I got home I decided to make cupcakes and piped the rosettes onto them too further my practice and my family said they looked good. Some changes I will make so I can make the stars the changes are I will use a different kind of frosting so then it is softer. Next week I will start working on my trifold and also work on my speech so then I have more time to practice what I will say and do so I am super prepared and have a good presentation. My mom is the best person in my life. She is the best because when i want something most of the time she buys it for me. Another reason is she helps me be responsible in times that I don’t make the best decisions. Also when I am sick she, gives me food, medicine, and water so she is amazing. She Helps me when I am trying to clean my room and I am struggling. Whenever I want to go to the mall with my friends she drives me there. My mom always drives me to school, appointments, activities and anything I need to do during the day and she gets me there on time. All of these things and more are all reasons why my mom is the best person in my entire life.

This month I read the book Tell Me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum. This book is about a girl whose mom died and she had to move to Los Angeles from Chicago. One day this anonymous person called Somebody Nobody(SN) emailed her. They keep emailing each other for a long time  but he still wont tel her his name, he did tell her that he goes to his school. One day they decided to meet each other at IHOP and they do.

I really liked this book because it was kinda like a mystery and I didn’t really know who it was so it was really intriguing and I kept wanting more. I would recommend this book.

My favorite character is scarlet her best friend from Chicago because she is so supportive she said in the book  “I’m sorry I’m not the type to lower our discourse to emoji use since you totally deserve a smiley face right now. Yes, it will get better.” This shows that she is supportive because she is tell i9ng Jessie that things will get better.

My favorite quote is “Some things are harder to say than others no matter how much truer.” This quote is meaningful to me because sometimes I want to tell somebody something but I am too scared to say it to them.

 

 

This week I worked on learning how to create little flowers. I used piping tip number four I was able to got to target to get the correct one. I had some problems that occurred when I was working on it when I tried to make the flowers the frosting was too firm so when I piped it out it kept getting stuck to the other frosting and also got stuck to the piping tip when I got it unstuck it did not look right. The adjustments I will make next week are I will mix it more because it was hard when I first opened it and wait for it to warm up a little bit so it is not so cool. Next week I would really like to learn how to make grass and I think I have the right tool because I think it will be pretty. Thank you for reading see you next week.

This week for my 20% project I wanted to learn how to make flowers but a struggle I had was that I realized that I did not have the correct piping tip, so I was not able to learn how to do that. Some accomplishments that I did have were Instead of flowers I looked on different stores to see where I could look to buy some that would work. Because I didn’t have the correct materials I figured out that I can get some from Micheles or target and this was super helpful because I got the new tips so then I can work on that along with something else as well next week. So next week I will work on flowers again along with trying to create grass because that look really cool and if I am able to do that it will help me tremendously in different designs. My favorite room in my house is my bedroom. This is my favorite room because my bed is comfortable and the bed has a blanket with pictures of me and my best friend on it. I also love my room because it has my vanity with all of my skincare and makeup in and on it. Also because I have a very big closet that I can put all of my clothes in and my backpack to keep my room clean. Lastly I love my room because I can sit in it all day and go on my phone. These are the reasons why my favorite room in my house is my bedroom.

Hello for my 20% project I am learning how to pipe cakes. This week I wanted to learn how to pipe hearts. First I watched a video to learn how to prepare the bag this helped because I had no idea what to do. I did have some struggles these were when I first tried to do this I cut the bag too long so all of the frosting burst out. There are some adjustments that’s I will make they are so this does not happen again is I will cut a little bit at a time instead of cutting one length that is too long. I am happy because I was able to reach my goal and make a couple of hearts.  Next week I will be working on that I really want to learn how to make either a rose or some kind of flower because they are so pretty.
